News Archives7.24.06 - I've been telling people that I'm in semi-retirement right now while I finish up my masters in education. As much as I'd like for it to be true, it's not... the gigs are rolling in left and right this fall. Keep an eye on this location for more details to come... 8.13.05 - Has it really been a year? Wow! Well, after a year of being off, I'm back in business again, this time with a great gig and some promising partnerships in the near future! Keep your eyes peeled as I revamp the percussion website as well. 6.10.04 - Man, it's been an incredible spring. My segment on StirTV actually aired early - I barely caught it myself! But there have been great responses to my interview with Jeannie. Just signed on to do a benefit for KSW's APAture, and just signed on to be a headliner at the Asian Hip Hop Summit in Los Angeles in October. Keep your eyes peeled for that info. 2.10.04 - 2004 is starting off strong, with a trip down to Los Angeles for KIWA's annual fundraiser in celebration of the Lunar New Year. Lots of Asians (and non-Asians) represented at the event for the Korean Immigrant Worker's Association, and it was definitely a pleasure to be working with such a crew. Crowd response was incredible, and I look forward to returning. In other news, new shows are on the slate for this upcoming spring! Wheels are cranking for the first play, and things are looking bright. Come out and support us on 2.14 for the annual Valentine's Day gig. 12.07.03 - And it looks like that's a wrap for 2003! The year has been extraordinary for me as a performer, with gigs pouring in from all sides. It has been a fantastic year for collaboration with the talented Aya de León, and as 2003 progressed I quickly found myself performing more and more as a solo artist. I expect 2004 to bring many exciting new ventures - not only as a beatboxer but as a performance artist and writer as a whole. Plans for 2004 include a relaunch of gotspit.com, a play and musical series to be produced, recording, a new musical project (or two), and of course performing within the hip hop and spoken word community. May the Christmas season be bright and full of blessings, and may 2004 also bring beautiful things to you, my music family! (Ohana.) 11.07.03 - Welcome to the new website, brought to you by the talented Dan Vedamuthu!. Thanks to Dan, my site is brand spankin' new and looks fantastic. Just in time, too, for my debut on national television as a part of the Showtime at the Apollo, filmed in front of a live audience at the Apollo Theater in Harlem. According to Emails I've received, it was well-received, to the point of fan art. Here's a link to a comic which was, according to one of the authors, "A tribute to you." Thanks, guys from DnD Dorks. Luv'ya. In other news, I have two fairly important gigs coming up this weekend - playing with Aya de Leon at a festival in Berkeley, CA, in the last show I'll be doing with her on the short version of her one-woman show, "Thieves in the Temple." Make sure to catch that! |
